KEVIN WEATHERLY SIGNS MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH CBS RADIO
Industry's Leading Programmer To Remain At Helm Of Top Rated KROQ-FM And JACK FM In Los Angeles
CBS RADIO has signed a contract extension with Kevin Weatherly, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS RADIO and Vice President of Programming for KROQ-FM and JACK FM in Los Angeles, ensuring the foremost programmer in the business remains with the Company for several more years.
Voted one of the Most Powerful People in Southern California by the Los Angeles Times in 2006, the 14-year veteran of KROQ has helped lead the station to the top of the ratings, as well as positioning it as one of the country's most influential stations in the radio and music industry. During his tenure with the station, KROQ has been honored by Radio and Records, Rolling Stone, Billboard Monitor, FMQB and Gavin magazine as Station of the Year a total of 24 times. In 2005, he was instrumental in launching JACK FM (KCBS-FM) taking the station to unprecedented heights in its first few months on the air. For the last year, JACK FM has ranked as the No. 1 English language station in the market among listeners 25-54.

Weatherly is an eight-time winner of Radio and Records "Program Director of the Year" Award, an honor he also received seven times from Billboard Monitor. He was also named one of the "50 Most Powerful People in Music" in 2004 and 2002 by Q magazine, and is a 1995 honoree of the T.J. Martell Foundation. Entertainment Weekly has also recognized Weatherly as one of the Most Powerful People in Entertainment.
Weatherly began his career at KROQ in 1992 and worked his way up to Vice President, Programming for the station. Previously, he was program director of Q106-FM in San Diego, music director of KIIS-FM in Los Angeles and KMEL-FM in San Francisco. He got his start in radio at age twelve at his family-owned radio station KPIN in Casa Grande, Ariz.
