CBS Sports’ Coverage Features Andre Agassi-Benjamin Becker; Andy Roddick-Fernando Verdasco and Maria Sharapova-Elena Likhovtseva WEATHER ALERT – 7-hour Tribute to Andre Agassi’s Career CBS Sports continues its 39th year covering THE U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS on Saturday, Sept. 2 (11:00 AM-6:00 PM, ET) with men’s and women’s third-round action. Headlining CBS Sports’ coverage are Andre Agassi playing in his final U.S. Open against Benjamin Becker; No. 9-seeded Andy Roddick versus No. 22-seeded Fernando Verdasco; and No. 3-seeded Maria Sharapova taking on Elena Likhovtseva. CBS Sports’ lead tennis announce team of Dick Enberg, along with expert analysts Mary Carillo and John McEnroe call the action together for their sixth consecutive year. Mary Joe Fernandez reports, while Bill Macatee and Patrick McEnroe serve as studio hosts for the weekend. Ian Eagle calls tennis action along with Pam Shriver as analyst. Heavy rains threaten to delay matches on Saturday. In the event of rain CBS Sports’ coverage will feature a seven-hour tribute and look back on Agassi’s career. Including highlights from some of his most memorable matches from his 21-year run at the U.S. Open. Bob Mansbach serves as coordinating producer of CBS Sports’ live coverage of tennis’ final grand slam of the year. Mansbach and David Winner produce, and Bob Fishman directs.
