The CBS Corporation has appointed three executives to key tax, technology and finance posts within the corporate level, it was announced today by Fred Reynolds, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, CBS Corporation. Richard M. Jones, most recently Vice President, Tax Planning & Operations and Tax Counsel for NBC Universal, has been named Senior Vice President, General Tax Counsel. In addition, Amy Berkowitz has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the company, while Michele Scaringella has been promoted to Vice President, Internal Audit.
“We are very pleased to make these appointments because each of these executives represents the very best in their fields,” said Reynolds. “Richard is one of our industry’s most gifted tax experts and I’m confident he will provide invaluable counsel to our Corporation as we embark on our new and exciting future. In addition, I’ve had the opportunity to work very closely with both Amy and Michele and they are the two of the brightest, hardest working executives in our company. Amy’s previous experience directing the information technology efforts for CBS Television has been exemplary, and I believe she’ll continue to demonstrate those same qualities in this new position. And we’re very fortunate to have someone with Michele’s skills, instincts and institutional knowledge leading our auditing processes.”
Jones most recently served as Vice President of Tax Planning & Operations and Tax Counsel for NBC Universal, where he was responsible for domestic and international tax planning. Previously, he was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, LLP, where he provided technical domestic and international tax consulting services to global multinational clients in the media, entertainment, communications and technology industries, and before that as an Auditor.
