CBS PHILADELPHIA ANNOUNCES NEW WEEKDAY MORNING NEWS LINEUP

Station Builds on Trusted Legacy with Updated Anchor Team Beginning June 3

PHILADELPHIA – June 2, 2026 – CBS Philadelphia announced the promotion of Jan Carabeo from reporter to the new weekday morning anchor, effective June 3. The new morning lineup follows the retirement of longtime anchor Jim Donovan, who worked at CBS Philadelphia for more than 20 years. 

Carabeo joins Janelle Burrell Wednesday through Friday, continuing the station’s commitment to delivering trusted local news, breaking coverage and community-focused reporting to viewers across the Philadelphia region. 

“Jan is a trusted and versatile journalist who has already proven herself as an anchor, storyteller and editorial leader in our newsroom,” said Kelly Frank, president and general manager of CBS Philadelphia. “This is a natural next step for her. She brings strong instincts, a deep connection to our audience and a collaborative approach that will only strengthen our morning team as we continue to grow that daypart.”

The refreshed morning team builds on the station’s existing strengths, bringing together experienced journalists and familiar faces to deliver comprehensive coverage of news, weather, traffic and stories that matter to the communities it serves. 

CBS NEWS PHILADELPHIA MORNINGS airs weekdays from 4:30-7:00 AM and 9:00-10:00 AM, ET on CBS Philadelphia (KYW- TV Ch. 3), and is available to stream 7:00-8:00 AM on CBS News Philadelphia.
