CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 14

60 MINUTES

CBS SUNDAY MORNING

  • Delivered 5.0 million viewers with 821,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic.

  • Season-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING holds 50% of the three-network morning audience.

FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN

  • Was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on March 20, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. (Press Release) (Watch FACE THE NATION)

  • Delivered 3.0 million viewers and 515,000 in adults 25-54 for the week.

  • Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC by +383,000 viewers).

  • Is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.

CBS MORNINGS

  • Delivered 2.3 million viewers, 514,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demo, and 299,000 among women 25-54, for the week ending March 18. (Watch CBS MORNINGS)

  • In the 28 weeks since launch, CBS MORNINGS is even in adults 25-54 and +3% in women 25-54 compared to the previous 28-week period, which is better than the competition, NBC (down -3% in adults and women) and ABC (-2% among adults and down -6% in women). 

  • Compared to last season, CBS MORNINGS has cut into NBC and ABC’s leads in the adults 25-54 demo by 12% and 9% respectively. 

  • Is delivering the tightest gaps in adults and women 25-54 for a season ever (since at least 1991) vs. NBC and ABC.

CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL

  • Delivered 5.0 million viewers and 849,000 adults 25-54 the week ending March 18. (Watch the CBS EVENING NEWS)

  • O’Donnell anchored from Poland on Monday and Tuesday.

  • Was the only evening news broadcast to gain viewers in the demo from last week while NBC and ABC lost viewers (+0.5% vs -16% for NBC and -19% for ABC).

  • This season is delivering the tightest demo gap with NBC in 27 years (since 1994-1995) and with ABC since 2018-2019.

  • Compared to last year, EVENING NEWS is closing the demo gap with NBC and ABC by 14%. In viewers, CBS has closed the gap by 3% against NBC and 11% with ABC.

CBS SATURDAY MORNING

  • Tied NBC in the adults 25-54 demo with each averaging 0.37 rating points for the first time since 2003. (Watch CBS SATURDAY MORNING)

  • Was the only broadcast to see week-to-week growth in adults 25-54.

  • Delivered 1.9 million viewers with 449,000 in the adults 25-54 demo on March 19.

  • Through 26 weeks, this season is even in viewers from last year while ABC is down -6% and NBC is down -1%.

  • Has closed the gaps with ABC in total viewers by 16% and by 9% with NBC.

  • In the adults 25-54 demo, CBS SATURDAY MORNING has closed the gap with ABC by 19% and by 13% with NBC.

  • This season, CBS SATURDAY MORNING is delivering the tightest gaps in the demo and viewers with NBC and ABC ever (since the debut in 2012).
