CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF JAN. 31

  • 60 MINUTES finished the week in the top 10, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Feb. 6. The newsmagazine was the week’s #6 primetime broadcast in viewers and adults 18+. 60 MINUTES was Sunday night’s #1 non-sports primetime program, and has finished as a top 10 broadcast 16 times in 17 airings this season.   • CBS SUNDAY MORNING, anchored by Jane Pauley, marked its 602nd consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Feb. 6 (regular titles only). The broadcast delivered 5.3 million viewers with 773,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic. CBS SUNDAY MORNING holds 50% of the three-network morning audience. (Watch CBS SUNDAY MORNING)

  • FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Feb. 6, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 2.9 million viewers and 500,000 in adults 25-54. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading ABC by +362,000 viewers and NBC by +399,000 viewers) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the adults and women 25-54 demographics.   • CBS MORNINGS delivered its largest audiences this season in viewers, adults and women 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Feb. 4. The broadcast delivered 2.7 million viewers, up +3% week-to-week. CBS MORNINGS is the only network morning program to post five consecutive weeks of audience growth. In the adults 25-54 demo, CBS MORNINGS delivered 584,000 viewers, up +4%. NBC grew +7%, while ABC grew +2%. For the season, CBS MORNINGS is delivering the tightest gaps in adults 25-54 with ABC and NBC ever (since at least 1991), closing the gap with ABC by only -279k and NBC by -362k. CBS MORNINGS, hosted by Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson, launched on Sept. 7, 2021. In the 22 weeks since launch, CBS MORNINGS is up +3% in adults and +5% in women compared to the previous 22-week period, which is better than the competition, NBC (+1% in adults and flat among women) and ABC (-1% among adults and down -5% in women). (Watch CBS MORNINGS)

  • The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL delivered 5.8 million viewers and 1.02 million in adults 25-54 for the week ending Feb. 4. The show delivered its best ratings in total viewers in nearly a year (since the week of Feb. 15, 2021). The flagship CBS News evening news broadcast also posted its strongest week-to-week gains in viewers (+5%). In adults 25-54, the CBS EVENING NEWS grew +6% week-to-week. This season, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL is delivering the tightest demo gap with NBC in 27 years (since 1994-1995) and with ABC since 2018-2019. Compared to last year, the CBS EVENING NEWS is closing the demo gap with NBC by 23% and with ABC by 17%. In viewers, CBS has closed the gap by 4% against NBC and 13% with ABC.   • CBS SATURDAY MORNING delivered 1.9 million total viewers with 371,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demo, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, Feb. 5. The broadcast delivered the tightest gap in viewers with NBC since Jan. 30, 2021. Through 20 weeks this season, CBS SATURDAY MORNING is growing in viewers from last year (+7k) while ABC is down -6% and NBC is flat. CBS SATURDAY MORNING has closed the gaps with ABC in total viewers by 18% and with NBC by 2%. In the adults 25-54 demo CBS SATURDAY MORNING has closed the gap with ABC by 14% and with NBC by 4%.
