CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 18

FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN

  • Was #1 in viewers and #2 among key 25-54 demos for the week, while the competition delivered some of their season’s lowest numbers. (Press Release) (Watch FACE THE NATION)

  • Has been #1 in viewers for the last 21 consecutive weeks and in 42 of 43 weeks it aired this season.

  • Delivered 2.655 million viewers with 432,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demo.

  • Season-to-date is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC by +369,000 viewers) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.

60 MINUTES PRESENTS

  • Was the week’s #3 primetime broadcast in total viewers and #2 program in adults 18+, according to Nielsen data for July 24. The newsmagazine finished as Sunday’s #1 primetime program in viewers and adults 18+. (Watch 60 MINUTES)

CBS MORNINGS

  • Was the only program to gain in women 25-54 (+5%) from last year, having done so for 11 of the past 12 weeks while the competition has fallen double digits in each of those weeks. (Watch CBS MORNINGS)

  • Delivered 2.3 million viewers, with 453,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demo and 284,000 among women 25-54, for the week ending July 22.

  • Gained +3% in viewers from the prior week.

  • Grew +2% in men, up for the second straight week.

  • Has cut into NBC and ABC’s leads for the season in the adults 25-54 demo by 22% and 15%, respectively, vs last year.

  • Is delivering the tightest gaps in adults and women 25-54 for a season ever (since at least 1991) vs. NBC and ABC.

CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL

  • Delivered the tightest gap in the adults 25-54 demographic with NBC since the week of July 2, 2007.(Watch the CBS EVENING NEWS)

  • In viewers, delivered its best number in five weeks, gaining more viewers (+4%) than ABC while NBC lost viewers.

  • Delivered 4.59 million viewers with 750,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic.

  • For the season is delivering the tightest demo gap with NBC in 27 years (since 1994/95) and with ABC since 2018/19.

  • Compared to last year is closing the demo gap with NBC by 14% and with ABC by 10%.

  • Has closed the gap in viewers with ABC by 5%.

CBS SATURDAY MORNING

  • Delivered its best viewers number in 19 weeks (since March 12) and best adults 25-54 number in 18 weeks (March 19). (Watch CBS SATURDAY MORNING)

  • Delivered 2.1 million total viewers, with 392,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demo, on July 23.

  • Was up +17% in viewers and up +25% in adults 25-54 from the previous week.

  • Has closed the viewer gap with ABC by 8% and with NBC by 1% for the season.

  • Has closed the gap with ABC by 8% and with NBC by 8% in the adults 25-54 demo.

  • Is delivering the tightest gaps this season in the demo with NBC and ABC ever, dating to the “Early Show” days in 1997/98.

  • Is delivering its tightest gap among viewers with NBC ever (since 1997/98) and with ABC since 2006/07.

CBS WEEKEND NEWS: SUNDAY

  • Delivered 2.848 million viewers with 410,000 of them in adults 25-54.

  • Sunday evening grew +36% in viewers and nearly +50% in adults week-to-week.

  • Delivered its largest audience since June 26, 2022.
