Tatanka Means plays Deputy Marshal Miles Kittle in the hit series MARSHALS. The series debuted to 20.6 million viewers over just seven days in the US, quickly becoming the most-watched new series premiere of the 2025-26 broadcast season.

The son of iconic actor and American Indian rights activist Russell Means, his own path started unexpectedly. His first screen role in 2004 was as a stunt double for an indie boxing drama filmed in his hometown of Chinle, Ariz., in the same gym where he grew up training as a state champion boxer. He then went on to play the renowned Lakota chief Crazy Horse in the 2005 TNT miniseries “Into the West.”

His career highlights include major roles in “Saints & Strangers,” “The Son,” “Banshee” and a critically acclaimed performance in “Tiger Eyes” (based on the Judy Blume novel), which earned him Best Supporting Actor at the American Indian Film Festival. More recently, Means played higher-profile roles in Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” and Kevin Costner’s “Horizon: An American Saga.” He can also be seen in the A24 horror film “Opus,” which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, and as Jake Longbow in the Netflix series “Ransom Canyon.” Means will next be seen in the upcoming film “Wind River: Rising.”

Aside from acting, Means is a touring stand-up comedian who performs throughout the United States.
