Jeff Probst is a five-time Emmy Award winner and the host and executive producer of the ground-breaking hit SURVIVOR, which paved the way for the reality television genre when it premiered on May 31, 2000. SURVIVOR will launch its milestone 50th season on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026.
Probst’s new book, Survivor: Forged by Fire – the official book celebrating the landmark 50th season and featuring never-before-seen images – will be released by Simon & Schuster on Feb. 24. He is a New York Times bestselling author of kids’ adventure series Stranded.
Probst is also a feature film director. In 2002, he wrote and directed “Finder’s Fee,” starring Ryan Reynolds, James Earl Jones, Robert Forster and Matthew Lillard.
Previously, Probst served as host of VH1’s ROCK AND ROLL JEOPARDY. In addition, he hosted several programs for FX and traveled around the world as a correspondent for “Access Hollywood.” In 2001 he was voted one of People magazine’s “Most Beautiful.”
He is a spokesperson for Taylorsgift.org, whose mission is to re-gift life through organ donation, and is a proud supporter of Survivor Stand Up 2 Cancer and St. Jude, among other charities.
Probst is an ordained minister and has served as the officiant at the weddings of several friends.
A native of Wichita, Kan., when he’s not traveling the world, Probst lives with his family and two dogs in Los Angeles. His birthday is Nov. 4. Follow him on Instagram and X @jeffprobst.
