Sydney Sweeney on Working with Real Life Boxer Christy Martin & Actor Ben Foster on this Biopic

Drew: Is it true that you watched her real-life testimony to her husband who was also her coach, played by Ben Foster, by the way, who also deserves an Academy Award, I did not know it was him.
Sydney: Crazy, right?
Drew: This is such a phenomenal knock out of a performance that he does.
Sydney: Christy couldn't even meet him, like Christy walked into the room one day and it was the first time she came to set and she saw him and she just started cursing and walked out. And for the rest of the shooting schedule she could not be in the same room as him and she could not talk to him.
Drew: I did not know what she had endured with him. I don't know how she survived what she survived.
Sydney: Because she's a fighter. She's like truly a fighter. We all have that within us. Like that's honestly what Christy taught me is we're all strong and we all have this fight inside of us to be able to stand up for ourselves, be who we want to be. And she was able to get up off of the bedroom floor as she was shot and stabbed bleeding out and walk out and save her life and she says that that wasn't the end of her story that was the beginning of it and now she's able to be an amazing advocate for others and it's, she's everything I love her she's amazing.

Drew: Is it true that like somebody came through town that was doing a casting or an audition and I didn't know this about you and I feel like I've studied you a lot and this detail I didn't know you had to convince your parents.
Sydney: I did. I was like 10 years old.
Drew: How did you convince them to let you try?
Sydney: I put together a 5-year business plan presentation. I had no idea what I was talking about, but it was basically, if I got to audition for this, I could meet people and if I got cast then maybe they'd know an agent and they could introduce me to an agent and then I could go out for commercials and short films. I don't know how I knew all of it but I pieced it together my mom and my dad were like, oh man, she's very serious about this. I don't think it's just gonna disappear. And so they let me audition for it and they all fell in love with all of it. It's something different and newer.
Drew: You got that job, right?
Sydney: I did. Yeah, it was a really small low budget film, but it was something I had to start somewhere.
Sydney Shares Who She Surrounds Herself With

Drew: How do you manage to juggle it all, be someone who's like out there is this larger than life figure, but also doing Academy Award level work? How are you, how are you balancing all of that.
Sydney: Honestly it’s just being surrounded by really good friends. Most of my friends are from my childhood and then my team has been my team since I started. So I'm with my family all the time and I think that just reminds me always like where I came from, why I'm doing this and just being with good people.
Rachel Sennott Tells Drew About Her Wine Walks Inspired by Her and Cameron Diaz

Rachel: I really wanted to tell you this story because I have a photo of you framed in my house.
Drew: Which I would have never known that like I'm the one who's been dying to meet you, such an Uber fan, and you have a picture of me with Cameron. Will you tell us the story of that.
Rachel: Yes, yes. So that's framed in my house. My little sister got it for me because during COVID, me and my sisters and my brother, we all went back to my parents' house and at night we would do our Drew Barrymore walks where we would take a bottle of wine. Not champagne, we weren't that fancy, but we had a bottle of wine and we would loop our parents' neighborhood and just gab. We were terrorizing suburbia, but it was fabulous and then when I moved to LA, my sister framed this photo for me as like a memory.
