Sam Hoffman is currently an executive producer alongside Robert and Michelle King for CBS’ new legal drama CUPERTINO.
Previously, Hoffman served as executive producer and directed multiple episodes of EVIL for Paramount+. Also, he has served as a director on ELSBETH as well as produced and directed various episodes of the hit drama MADAM SECRETARY on the Network. Most recently, Hoffman served as an executive producer on the Hulu series “Furious.”
Hoffman’s first feature film as writer/director, “Humor Me,” starring Jemaine Clement, Elliott Gould and Ingrid Michaelson, premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival in 2017 and was released theatrically in 2018. Also, he created the web series “Old Jews Telling Jokes,” which has been viewed over 50 million times, released on DVD and broadcast on the BBC. His book, based on the series, is now in its sixth printing and the Off-Broadway play derived from the series currently tours throughout North America.
Additional feature films Hoffman has produced include Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom,” John Carney’s “Begin Again” and Richard Loncraine’s “5 Flights Up.” Earlier in his career, Sam also assistant directed such acclaimed titles as “The Royal Tenenbaums,” “School of Rock,” “Donnie Brasco,” “Dead Man Walking” and “Groundhog Day.”
Hoffman graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in New York City with his wife and their two children.
