“Parmigiana & Aspen” – A border-collie mix named Parmigiana charms her way into a family looking for a four-legged companion for their son. And Aspen, a spirited spitz mix, may be the perfect match for a couple who have both endured the loss of loved ones. (NEW)
MISSION UNSTOPPABLE
“Bots, Bioengineering and Bacteria” – Join a high school robotics team as they participate in a competition. A bioengineer uses titration to find out how much vitamin C is in three different juices. Find out why foxes scream. Nabeel goes cave diving to find new microbes. (NEW)
THE VISIONEERS WITH ZAY HARDING
“Upcycling for a Cleaner Tomorrow” – Zay Harding meets a Visioneer who has found a way to take plastic that can’t be recycled and break it down into new building blocks. Zay heads to L.A. and tours an incubator where green initiatives are flourishing under one roof. Plus, a young kid who upcycles school uniforms for his community. And Zay takes a spin on a robot cleaning below the surface. (NEW)
THE HENRY FORD’S INNOVATION NATION
“Seal Whisker Camera” – Host Mo Rocca shows us: how cameras are showing scientists a seal’s deep-water diet; fingerprint technology on your smartphone; the disruptive invention of the doorbell camera; and the small locomotives keeping industry rolling. (OAD 10/14/23)
HOPE IN THE WILD
“Think Mink” – An adorable mink named Murray captures the hearts of Hope and her crew, and the team attempts to reunite a white-tailed deer fawn with its mother. (OAD 10/6/18)
The CBS WKND block is FCC educational/informational (E/I) compliant, targeted to 13- to 16-year-olds and appealing to all viewers. All the programs are specifically designed to further the educational and informational needs of children, have educating and informing children as a significant purpose, and otherwise meet the definition of Core Programming as specified in the Commission’s rules.
