Ernie Hudson is one of film and television’s most respected and well-versed actors with a career spanning over five decades.
Hudson currently stars opposite Raymond Lee and Caitlin Bassett in “Quantum Leap,” which recently completed its second season. Also, Hudson stars in and executive produces the hit series “The Family Business,” now in its fifth season. His additional television credits include “Grace and Frankie,” for which he received widespread acclaim, and “Oz,” where he won a Satellite Award for Best Actor for his role as Warden Leo Glynn. Other notable appearances include “Modern Family,” “Law & Order,” “LA’s Finest,” “Twin Peaks,” “Scandal,” “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Ballers” and BLUE BLOODS on the Network.
On the big screen, Hudson reprised his iconic role as Winston Zeddemore in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” reuniting with original cast members Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in this latest chapter of the beloved franchise. In addition to all five “Ghostbusters” films, his film credits include “The Crow” with Brandon Lee, “Miss Congeniality” and “Miss Congeniality 2” with Sandra Bullock, “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” opposite Rebecca De Mornay, “Congo” with Laura Linney, “Champions” with Woody Harrelson, “The Retirement Plan” with Nicolas Cage, and “Prisoner’s Daughter” with Brian Cox.
Born on Dec. 17 in Benton Harbor, Mich., Hudson is a graduate of Wayne State University and studied acting at the Yale School of Drama. When not working, he enjoys staying active and spending time with his family. He resides in Los Angeles. Follow Hudson on Instagram @erniehudsonofficial.
