CBS SPORTS CONTINUES WITH 2005 AUTO RACING SCHEDULE WITH FIRST FORMULA 1 RACE "THE GRAND PRIX OF SAN MARINO" FROM IMOLA, ITALY ON SUNDAY, APRIL 24
CBS Sports continues its 2005 Auto Racing schedule by broadcasting its second race of the season and first Formula 1 race, the GRAND PRIX OF SAN MARINO, on Sunday, April 24 (1:00-3:00 PM, ET) from Imola, Italy.
Located in Italy, this circuit truly lies in the heart of Ferrari country. The magic of Imola began all the way back in 1954, and since then some of the greatest moments of Formula 1 Racing have taken place there. The mystique of the circuit was verified in 1983 when Patrick Tambay drove the number 27 car of deceased friend and legend Gilles Villenueve to victory, claiming the car did things that he didn't even ask it to. This year, Michael Shumaker of the Ferrari team looks to repeat his dominating performance of last year's event, one of 13 he won during the Formula 1 season. He will be driving the brand new Ferrari F2005, the talk of the season thus far.
CBS Sports' Ralph Sheheen and Derek Daly cover the action from Imola, Italy. Eric Mann is the coordinating producer and Jim Cornell is the director.
Tony Petitti is the Executive Producer, CBS Sports.
COLLEGE CHEER AND DANCE TEAMS HAVE THEIR MOMENT TO SHINE The role of a college cheerleader or dance team member is to support the team and promote school spirit. While the team normally plays a secondary role at most events, it will be the main attraction at the CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR CHICK-FIL-A CHEER AND DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP broadcast by CBS Sports on Saturday, April 23 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Craig Minervini, Amanda Borden and Tracy Wolfson were on hand in Daytona Beach, Fla. (4/7/05) to witness first-hand the athletic ability and precision of teams such as BYU, University of North Carolina and Louisville. The competition is the world's largest collegiate cheerleading competition and draws more than 3000 cheerleaders from all over the country. Suzanne Smith is the coordinating producer.
