CNN ANCHOR ANDERSON COOPER TALKS ABOUT HIS MOTHER, GLORIA VANDERBILT, ON "CBS NEWS SUNDAY MORNING" (6)
This Sunday (6), CNN Anchor Anderson Cooper reveals to CBS News Correspondent Erin Moriarty a few funny things about his famous mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, that the public may not know. The interview will be broadcast on CBS NEWS SUNDAY MORNING (9:00-10:30 AM, ET).
The following are excerpts from the interview. Please credit CBS NEWS SUNDAY MORNING.
Regarding his mother's latest memoir, It Seemed Important at the Time, in which Vanderbilt reveals information about her love affairs, Cooper says the following:
COOPER: I was like, "Ooh, too much information for me."... I think it's sort of neat that at...her age, to be able to sort of see life in the way she does and to really believe in romance the way she does and believe in love.
MORIARTY: How would you describe your mother?
COOPER: She's not like anyone else's mom. She would show up at, like, report day at my school where, you know, parents have to go in and get the report card, in sort of like a beaver skin purple Zander Rhodes coat. And I'd be like, "Mom, you know, can't you just, like, wear tweed or something?" Just like, "Tone it down?" And now I'm very happy and proud that she doesn't, and she's completely unique.
Rand Morrison is the executive producer of SUNDAY MORNING.
