"American Goddess" -- The physically transformed winner of a popular surgical make-over reality show disappears in the midst of a publicity event at which she was the featured attraction, on WITHOUT A TRACE, Thursday, Oct. 28 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Tony Goldwyn directed this episode that was written by Maria Maggenti.

Elizabeth Berkley ("Save by the Bell") guest stars as Lynette Shaw, the missing make-over winner, and Evan Handler ("Sex and the City") guest stars as Lynette's mother's boyfriend of three years -- who has been Lynette's manager since she became the "American Goddess" winner six weeks ago.

The team soon learns that although the missing Lynette was transformed from an average-looking young restaurant bookkeeper to a stunning celebrity of sorts, she remained the fragile, insecure and lonely person she had always been. As they attempt to identify and locate a man who left several messages on Lynette's answering machine prior to her disappearance, the agents look into the bitter "American Goddess" contestant whom Lynette inadvertently got disqualified from the show. They also investigate whether any unstable fellow patients from the mental ward from which Lynette once sought care may have resurfaced to put her in harms way -- and consider the possibility that the formerly dateless and naïve new beauty may have fallen prey to a charming yet dangerous suitor.

For a month prior to her disappearance, Dr. Lianna Davis seemed to be under an unusual amount of stress, according to her ex-husband, Dr. Evan Mayhew. Possible suspects include her former husband, a violent ex-boyfriend and a doctor she was going to testify against in a malpractice lawsuit. The case turns a corner when it appears that after a miscarriage Lianna tried to contact the child she had given up as an unwed teenager and that an imposter may be posing as her daughter.
