Lanny Wadkins, winner of 21 PGA TOUR events and the PGA Championship, and former U.S. Ryder Cup captain, joined CBS Sports' golf announce team full-time as lead analyst in July 2002.

Recognized as one of golf's fiercest competitors and most outspoken players, Wadkins contributed to the Network's golf coverage in 2001 and 2002 at several tournaments, as well as the 2001 PGA Championship and the 2002 Masters?.

Wadkins joined the PGA TOUR in 1971 and established himself as one of golf's elite with 21 victories and four international titles. He earned his major championship by winning the 1977 PGA Championship at Pebble Beach. Wadkins competed for the United States on eight Ryder Cup teams, compiling a record of 21½-11. He went on to captain the 1995 U.S. Ryder Cup team at the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y. He also represented the United States as a member of the World Amateur Cup team in 1970 and the World Cup team in 1977, 1984 and 1985. In 2000, he won his first Senior PGA TOUR event at the ACE Classic.

Wadkins won the 1970 U.S. Amateur Cup tournament championship while attending Wake Forest University and was named Collegiate All-America in 1970 and 1971. He was born December 5, 1949, in Richmond, Va. He lives in Dallas with his wife, Penelope, and has three children.
