TOMORROW NEVER DIES, the second action-adventure thriller starring Pierce Brosnan as legendary master spy and super agent James Bond, will be rebroadcast Sunday, Aug. 29 (9:00-11:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. (Originally broadcast on 1/14/01)

Jonathan Pryce, Michelle Yeoh, Teri Hatcher, Judi Dench and Gotz Otto also star in the film, which pits Agent 007 against a megalomaniacal media magnate whose tentacles reach around the globe as he strives to dominate the world's perception of the truth and of the news by such acts as fomenting war between Britain and China.

When British intelligence suspects that the dangerously mad mogul, Elliot Carver (Pryce), has some sadistic connection to the sinking of a British frigate, Bond is given orders by his boss, M (Dench), to investigate Carver and his multimedia empire. Fortunately for Bond, Carver's new wife, Paris (Hatcher), is one of Bond's former romantic conquests. After rekindling their old flame, he learns from her about Carver's secret laboratory in Hamburg.

The latest gadgets from Q (Desmond Llewelyn), including a remote-control BMW and a combination cell phone/stungun/lock picker, help Bond penetrate Carver's lair and recover evidence of the British frigate's underwater resting place. After jetting to Asia, Bond teams up with Chinese spy Wai Lin (Hong Kong action star Yeoh) to stop Carver and his chief assassin, Stamper (Otto), from orchestrating the next phase of their war.

The 1997 United Artists release, shot in France, Mexico, Thailand and Germany, was directed by Roger Spottiswoode from a screenplay by Bruce Feirstein based on Ian Fleming's James Bond series. Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are the producers.
