This is Tiger's last tune-up before the U.S. Open. He will need to drive the ball better to be in contention at Shinnecock. This is also the last tune-up for those players who don't like to play the week before majors...Will we have a year free of rain?...Jack Nicklaus has said that he won't play a ceremonial role at the Masters, but will continue to play his event. Is that contradictory? Phil Mickelson is not playing this weekend because he likes to play the week before the majors. But every other top player will be there. The reality is all eyes will be on Tiger and checking out his swing changes and getting a feel for whether or not he looks comfortable with those changes.
