Rebroadcast of "CSI" Draws 1.4 Million More Viewers Than a First-Run "ER"
CBS placed first in viewers for the sixth consecutive week, first in its target demographic of adults 25-54 for the fifth straight week and a competitive second in adults 18-49, in the week ending Dec. 7, Week 11 of the 2003-2004 season.
CBS has now posted year-to-year gains in adults 18-49 in five consecutive weeks, the only major network to post gains over that time span. No other major network has been up in adults 18-49 since the week ending Nov. 9.
CBS had five of the six most watched programs of the week, including No. 1 SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS which attracted its largest audience of the season. In addition, freshman drama COLD CASE cracked the Top 10 for the second consecutive week this season, the CBS SUNDAY MOVIE ("Undercover Christmas") attracted its second largest audience of the season and a rebroadcast of "CSI" drew nearly 1.4 million more viewers than a first-run "ER."

In viewers, CBS (12.97m) easily outpaced NBC (10.58m), ABC (9.82m) and FOX (7.64m). Season-to-date, CBS (13.45m) is first in viewers followed by NBC (11.00m), FOX (10.04m) and ABC (9.77m).

In households, CBS (8.5/14) enjoyed a +21% advantage over NBC (7.0/11), +33% over ABC (6.4/10) and +73% over FOX (4.9/08). Season-to-date, CBS (8.8/14) has a +19% advantage over NBC (7.4/12), +35% ahead of FOX (6.5/10) and +38% ahead of ABC (6.4/10).

CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.8/12, the demographic most important to advertisers*), men 25-54 (4.4/11) and second in women 25-54 (5.2/12) and adults 18-49 (3.9/10). CBS was first in adults 25-54 for the fifth week in a row and first in men 25-54 for the sixth consecutive week. Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +15% in households, +17% in adults 25-54, +13% in women 25-54, +22% in men 25-54, +11% in adults 18-49. CBS is the only major network this week to post gains in adults 18-49 for the fourth consecutive week.

Season-to-date, CBS (5.0/12) is first in adults 25-54 with a +0.1 advantage over NBC. This time last year, CBS trailed NBC by -0.6 rating point.

SURVIVOR won both half-hours in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 and was the week's most watched program. This is SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS' highest rated and most watched episode to date.

CBS was first in households, viewers and key demos, tied for first in men 25-54 with NBC from 9:30-11:00PM. The CBS SUNDAY MOVIE matched its best household delivery of the season and posted is second largest audience and second best adults 25-54 delivery.
