A FATAL MISTAKE BY THE CURRENT CHIEF OF POLICE PROVIDES MANNION A WAY TO GET HIS JOB BACK, ON "THE DISTRICT," SATURDAY, OCT. 4

Jaclyn Smith ("Charlie's Angels") Returns as Vanessa Cavanaugh

"The Devil You Know..." - Mannion sees the perfect opportunity to get his job back after the current chief of police makes a mistake that costs someone their life, on THE DISTRICT, Saturday, Oct. 4 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. One of the series' supervising producers, Oz Scott, directed the episode written by Patricia Green.

Jaclyn Smith ("Charlie's Angels") returns as Vanessa Cavanaugh, a civil rights attorney who is intent on helping Mannion return as chief of police.

The new chief of police finds himself in the middle of a political firestorm when he uses unconfirmed intelligence to raid an apartment of a drug dealer's girlfriend. However, they soon discover that the apartment now belongs to an elderly woman who suffers a heart attack during the raid and dies. Now, Mannion uses his own brand of justice by secretly putting his old team together and setting up a sting operation that they hope will catch the drug dealer--and hopefully get Mannion his old job back. Meanwhile, tensions brew between Temple and Debreno after Debreno has a one-night stand with someone unexpected.
