DAVID F. POLTRACK, CHIEF RESEARCH OFFICER, CBS CORPORATION NAMED TO THE MARKET RESEARCH COUNCIL HALL OF FAME
NEW YORK, June 25 — David F. Poltrack, Chief Research Officer, CBS Corporation, and President of CBS VISION, was recently named to the Hall of Fame of the Market Research Council. Poltrack, along with George Fabian, were honored on June 19 during a luncheon ceremony at the Yale Club in New York. The Honor is given yearly to one executive in the following two categories: to a currently active market research professional (Poltrack) and to a research professional who is no longer active in the industry (Fabian).
“Dave is a great listener, always open and approachable to what’s new,” said Steve Douglas, the MRC 2009 Hall of Fame Chairperson. “He’s been the fairest and most evenhanded of buyers of media research, leaving out any personal bias. Plus, he has legions of friends, fans and mentorees.” Douglas continued, “Dave is always open to cutting-edge methodologies and is the television industry standard bearer. This is even more important as the medium segues into the digital and interactive era. Dave will be an important part of leading us there.”
In his acceptance remarks, Poltrack took the opportunity to thank and acknowledge many of his colleagues, members of his team, his past and current bosses, fellow MRC award winners and his wife, Leslie Poltrack.
“I am truly a lucky man,” said Poltrack. “I have had the good fortune to have shared my adult life with a woman I love who inspires me every day. I have shared an extraordinary profession with the wonderful people in this room today. I have had the opportunity to teach and mentor others. Thank you again for this wonderful honor. And thank you also for affording me this unique opportunity to thank some of those individuals who have enriched my life.”
Poltrack oversees all research operations at CBS encompassing audience measurement, market research, program testing, advertising research, and monitoring of the national and international video marketplace. He also designed and oversees TELEVISION CITY at the MGM GRAND, Las Vegas, the state-of-the-art Research Center providing ongoing consumer feedback concerning all entertainment content and technology. Poltrack is a past chairman of the Media Rating Council, a trustee and a member of the executive committee of the Marketing Science Institute, past president of the Market Research Council, and a member of the Advertising Research Council.
