Last Night's "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" Delivers the Series' Largest Audience Since the Season 8 Premiere in September 2007

CSI's largest audience since September 2007 (season 8 premiere)-24.25 million viewers- bid farewell to Gil Grissom as William Petersen appeared in his final episode of television's Number One drama last night, according to Nielsen updated live plus same day ratings for Thursday, Jan. 15.

 

The episode, which will be rebroadcast next Thursday, Jan. 22 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), delivered the largest audience for a scripted program this season.

 

At 8:15 PM, CSI: 8PM SPECIAL (R) (S) was first in the 8PM hour in households (9.6/15), viewers (15.52m), adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and adults 18-49 (3.6/09). 

 

At 9:15 PM, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (14.4/22), viewers (24.25m), adults 25-54 (8.7/19) and adults 18-49 (6.6/16) in the 9:00-10:00PM time period.  This is CSI's best delivery in both households and viewers since September 27, 2007 (season 8 premiere) and in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since October 9, 2008 (season 9 premiere).  This is the largest audience for a scripted program season-to-date.

 

At 10:15 PM, ELEVENTH HOUR was first in households (8.3/14), viewers (13.16m), adults 25-54 (4.4/11) and adults 18-49 (3.4/09) in the 10:00PM hour.  This is the second best delivery for ELEVENTH HOUR in these measures this season.

 

For the night, CBS was first in households (11.1/17), viewers (18.17m), adults 25-54 (6.2/14) and adults 18-49 (4.7/12).  CBS won every half-hour in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.  This is CBS's best Thursday delivery this season in households and viewers, matches the best adults 25-54 Thursday delivery this season and is the second best Thursday adults 18-49 performance this season.
