DAVID SCOTT RUBIN NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF PHYSICAL PRODUCTION, CBS FILMS

CBS Films has named David Scott Rubin, Executive Vice President, Physical Production, it was announced today by Amy Baer, President and CEO of the division within CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS and CBS.A). 

 

In this position, which reports to Baer, Rubin will oversee physical production for all films produced by CBS Films. 

 

"David has a uniquely balanced skill set.  He has worked both as an independent producer, and as a production executive managing a slate of films for a successful production company," said Baer.  "He understands how to walk the delicate line of managing the bottom line while simultaneously being filmmaker friendly.  That balance is very important to the success of our division."

 

Rubin joins CBS Films from Lakeshore Entertainment where he served as Executive Producer and Senior Vice President of Physical Production since 2005.  While at Lakeshore he oversaw production on numerous films including the "Crank" series starring Jason Statham; "The Dead Girl," which was nominated for Best Picture by the Independent Spirit Film Awards; and the soon to be released sci-fi action thriller "Game," starring Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall.

 

Prior to joining Lakeshore, Rubin was an independent producer and was Executive Producer on such films as "I Am Sam," which garnered an Academy Award nomination for Sean Penn, and the urban comedy classic, "Soul Plane."
