Last.fm today announced it has joined forces with Billboard to launch its "Last.fm in a Box" application on Billboard.com.  "Last.fm in a Box" allows Billboard.com readers to access Last.fm's free streaming radio service, which includes over 7 million tracks from major and independent labels.

"Last.fm in a Box" is a customizable application, allowing partner sites to easily integrate the Last.fm music experience into their own platforms. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the "Last.fm in a Box" application on Billboard.com features tracks from artists who landed on Billboard's special edition "All-Time Hot 100" chart, including The Beatles, Mariah Carey, LeeAnn Rimes, Chubby Checker, Usher, Santana, The Police and many more.

"Last.fm is thrilled to add these tracks to Billboard.com, now offering its audience of engaged music enthusiasts the ultimate online music experience," said Martin Stiksel, Last.fm co-founder.  "The collaboration of Last.fm and Billboard is a perfect fit, as both brands are extremely focused on and passionate about music and music fans."

"The 'Last.fm in a Box' application is a natural complement to the array of music news, charts, features and videos that we offer consumers on Billboard.com, and is the perfect way to continue the Billboard Hot 100 50th Anniversary Celebration," said Josh Engroff, Vice President of Digital for Billboard.

Featuring millions of tracks from the global music site's unparalleled catalogue, the "Last.fm in a Box" application extends the Last.fm service beyond its site in an open and syndicated format.  Last.fm's open platform allows partner sites to adopt "Last.fm in a Box" simply, easily and quickly.  The service is ad-supported allowing brands and sponsors the opportunity to reach millions of highly engaged music fans across the Web.
