CBS SCORES 8 WINS AT THE 52ND ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY® AWARDS

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) revealed the winners for the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards tonight at a ceremony held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Calif., with CBS receiving eight Daytime Emmys for its programming across CBS and CBS Media Ventures.

CBS Media Ventures won six trophies combined, for THE DREW BARRYMORE SHOW, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT and HOT BENCH. The CBS daytime dramas THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS each won one award.

Deborah Norville, long-time host of INSIDE EDITION and CBS Media Ventures’ new game show THE PERFECT LINE, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her esteemed career as a television journalist spanning over 45 years, including three decades as anchor of INSIDE EDITION. Norville holds the record for longest-serving national news anchor in American television history, and helped make INSIDE EDITION the nation’s #1 daily newsmagazine and one of the top five programs in first-run syndication.

Highlights include:

  • Drew Barrymore’s first win for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host for THE DREW BARRYMORE SHOW.

  • ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT honored with two Daytime Emmys, including Outstanding Entertainment News Series, an award they have taken home six years in a row and 10 times overall.

  • Lisa Yamada of THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL winning for Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series and becoming the only Asian-American acting winner from a network soap opera.

  • HOT BENCH taking home the award for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program.

  • THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS’ Susan Walters’ win for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress.
