CBS NEWS IS NOMINATED FOR 10 EMMY AWARDS
"Sunday Morning" Leads the Network with Three Nominations
CBS News broadcasts received 10 nominations from the News and Documentary Emmy Awards, three of which were garnered by the Network's SUNDAY MORNING program. The 26th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards for segments broadcast in 2004 will be presented on Sept. 19, 2005.
SUNDAY MORNING, for the second straight year, has received the most Emmy nominations for CBS News.? All three are for Outstanding Feature Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast:
"Cuba, Kansas"? -- Correspondent Martha Teichner profiles National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson, whose photos captured the moments in the history of a community over 30 years. Jason Sacca, producer and Robin Skeete, editor.
"A Fair to Remember" -- Bill Geist visits the Iowa State Fair, where, among other attractions, visitors marvel at a 600-pound cow sculpted in butter.???Amy Rosner, producer and Remington Korper, editor
"Net Gain" -- Charles Osgood reports on "Playing for Peace," a basketball group created by Americans to bring strife-torn children of different religions and races together. Brian Healy, producer and Patrick Lee, editor.
60 MINUTES received two nominations for Outstanding Continuous Coverage of a News Story in a News Magazine:
"The Killing in Sudan" - Scott Pelley reports on the plight of hundreds of thousands of Sudanese killed or made refugees in civil strife in Sudan's Darfur region. Bill Owens, producer and Cindy Kuhn, editor.
"The Murder of Emmett Till" - Ed Bradley reports on the possibility of justice in a 50-year-old racial murder in Mississippi for which no one was convicted. Michael Radutzky, producer and Daniel Panarello, editor.
Two nominations for 60 MINUTES II came in the categories of Outstanding Feature Story in a News Magazine and Best Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast:
"Garden of Eden" - Christiane Amanpour visits a pristine forest where gorillas have never encountered humans. Andrew Tkach, producer and Leon Ferguson, editor.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH DAN RATHER received two, the first for Outstanding Feature Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast and the latter for Outstanding Investigative Journalism in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast:
