JANE HANDCOCK NAMED BET AMPLIFIED ARTIST FOR JANUARY 2026

New York – January 6, 2026 – BET proudly announces Jane Handcock as the BET Amplified Artist for January 2026. As part of BET’s premier emerging artist platform, Jane delivers an exclusive BET Amplified Live performance streaming on BET.com, BET’s official YouTube, and BET Facebook channels beginning January 6, 2026.

A powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and producer, Jane Handcock is a singular force in contemporary R&B. A five-time Emmy Award winner and Grammy-nominated artist, Handcock has built a career defined by emotional honesty, technical mastery, and a fearless commitment to self-expression. From her early roots in the Bay Area to becoming a trusted creative collaborator for some of music’s biggest names, Jane’s artistry reflects both resilience and refinement.

Handcock enters this moment as she prepares to release her most personal and accomplished body of work to date, It’s Me, Not You. The project marks a defining chapter in her evolution — one rooted in accountability, vulnerability, and artistic ownership. “I’m going to talk about myself before I give anybody else a platform to do so,” she shares, setting the tone for an album that lays her truth bare.

Her journey has taken her from Oakland School for the Arts to writing and producing her way through Atlanta’s competitive music scene, eventually forging a creative kinship with Raphael Saadiq and earning the title “First Lady of Death Row Records” from Snoop Dogg. As a cornerstone of the label’s reemergence, Handcock carries both creative freedom and cultural responsibility, raising the bar for modern R&B while honoring legacy.

Across her career, Jane Handcock has collaborated with and contributed to projects alongside Kelly Rowland, Teddy Riley, BJ The Chicago Kid, Raphael Saadiq, and Snoop Dogg, with her work featured on hit series including Insecure and Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Her ability to write, record, and engineer her own music sets her apart as a true auteur in today’s music landscape.

As the January BET Amplified Artist, Jane joins a celebrated roster of artists shaping the future of R&B and hip-hop. Her selection marks a milestone moment as BET amplifies her voice, her story, and a new era of music rooted in truth, growth, and excellence.

As a BET Amplified Artist, Jane Handcock will receive robust multi-platform support across BET, BET Her, BET Jams, BET Soul, BET.com, BET Socials, and the BET Official YouTube page. BET Amplified is part of BET’s ongoing mission to spotlight the next generation of influential artists redefining the culture.
