As part of BET’s premier emerging artist platform, Samara Cyn delivered an exclusive live-to-tape performance streaming on BET.com, the official BET YouTube, and Facebook channels on August 5, 2025, at 3 pm PST.
Originally hailing from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Samara Cyn spent her formative years as a child in an army family, constantly on the move and adapting to new environments. This nomadic upbringing profoundly influenced her dynamic approach to music. Now based in Los Angeles, Samara embarked on her musical journey in 2019 when she wrote her first song, transforming what began as a therapeutic outlet into a passionate career.
Writing music quickly shifted from a casual hobby to a vital part of her life, aiding her in navigating through various emotional landscapes. As her skills sharpened and her unique sound blossomed, Samara gained significant traction on streaming platforms. With over 1 million monthly listeners across all digital platforms, her influence in the music industry is rapidly expanding.
Samara Cyn's blend of heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies is not only garnering her a substantial audience but also marking her as a promising talent to watch. In addition to her musical endeavors, Samara also launched her own brand, called "Third Eye Lazy," further bolstering her brand and expanding her creative footprint.
Additionally, her debut EP, The Drive Home, was released later in 2024, which symbolizes her journey to figuring out her self-identity, adding another layer of depth to her evolving narrative. Most recently, Samara released her backroads EP in June 2024, a striking body of work that captures her music as not only sonically rich but also culturally resonant and received large critical acclaim. It was followed by a striking performance of her song “hardheaded” from the project on The Daily Show in July 2024, making her TV debut.
