COLMAN DOMINGO NAMED PRESIDENT’S AWARD RECIPIENT FOR “57TH NAACP IMAGE AWARDS”

Visionary actor, playwright, director, and producer Colman Domingo to be honored for his trailblazing career and influence across entertainment and culture

LOS ANGELES (February 17, 2026) - Today, the NAACP announced that Colman Domingo will be presented with the President’s Award at the “57th NAACP Image Awards” airing live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday, February 28, at 8:00 PM ET on BET and CBS.
This year, Domingo is also nominated for two NAACP Image Awards for his role and directing in “The Four Seasons” and achieved a historic double win at the 55th NAACP Image Awards in 2024, securing awards for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture (Rustin) and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (The Color Purple).
The President's Award is presented in recognition of special achievement and distinguished public service. Previous recipients include Dave Chappelle, Usher, Gabrielle Union-Wade, Dwyane Wade, Rihanna, LeBron James, Kerry Washington, Spike Lee, Muhammad Ali, Jesse Jackson, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter, and Ms. Lauryn Hill.

Colman Domingo is an actor, writer, director, and producer. He has been nominated for two Oscars, BAFTA, Tony® Award, Critics Choice Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, and recently received an Emmy nomination for his work on Netflix’s “The Four Seasons”.
Previously, he won an Emmy for his work on the HBO series “Euphoria,” with Season 3 premiering this April. He will next star as patriarch Joe Jackson in Antoine Fuqua’s Michael, followed by roles in Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, Season 2 of “The Four Seasons,” and Jaume Collet-Serra’s An Innocent Girl.
He was on the cover of Time Magazine in 2025 as a “Closer,” one who works to fill the racial equity gap, and was named on the 2024 TIME100 List as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. He was also a co-chair of the Met Gala last year, which raised a record $31 million for The Costume Institute.
“57th NAACP Image Awards'' winners will be revealed during the “57th NAACP Image Awards'' telecast on Saturday, February 28 live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, on BET and will simulcast on the CBS Television Network. NAACP will also recognize winners in non–televised Image Awards categories at the “57th NAACP Image Awards” Creative Honors Thursday, February 26 and virtually on YouTube/NAACPPlus Monday, February 23-Wednesday, February 25.
