New York, NY – June 25, 2019– The LIVE premiere of the 2019 "BET AWARDS" on Sunday, June 23, returns as the #1 Cable Awards Show among P18-49 for the 2019 broadcast season, and claims the #1 spot for the fifth consecutive calendar year (2015-2019)*. The 2019 "BET AWARDS" drew 12.7 MM Total Viewers P2+ (EDAC), as it was simulcast LIVE across 8 Viacom networks including BET Her, MTV, MTV2, MTV Classic, Logo, TV Land, and VH1, with 5.3 MM Total Viewers P2+ tuning in on BET alone.** Additionally, with the 2019 "BET AWARDS,” BET continues to have 3 of the top cable Awards Shows among P18-49 for the broadcast season 2019 Year-To-Date among P18-49 (BET Awards, Hip Hop Awards, Soul Train Awards).**  Nearing 10 hours of LIVE “BET AWARDS” related content the network drew over 14 MM total Viewers P2+ (EDAC) and 6.6 MM Total Viewers P2+ on BET alone.*** Filled with non-stop exhilarating moments, the special secured the #1 Most Social Cable Awards Show title year-to-date for the third consecutive year and grew +80% year-over-year.** Fans across the world were immersed on multiple screens as the network’s full weekend coverage of the BET Awards generated over 12M views across Social, up +40% Y-O-Y.**

  • With a total of 6.3 MM Total Interactions across Facebook and Twitter, the 2019 "BET AWARDS," reigned on social media as the #1 Most Social Program of the day.
  • On Twitter, the #BETAwards trended in the #1 spot consecutively for 12 hours in the U.S and a top trending topic worldwide 8 consecutive hours.** The show dominated with 7 out of the top 10 topics in the U.S. The most tweeted about moment of the show peaked at 8:56pm ET, with nearly 13k tweets, when breakthrough artist Lizzo’sperformed on top of a giant white cake with a captivating rendition of her hit “Truth Hurts” complete with a signature flute solo. 
  • On Instagram, the awards blasted off with a significant increase, up +234%.
  • On YouTube, streams more than doubled in growth, +145% Y-O-Y. Cardi B & Offset’s opening performance of “Press” and “Clout” trended at #1 on YouTube the day after the show (6/24/2019).
  • This year’s BET Awards drove +20% more visitors and +26% more streams compared to last year for the day of the award show (includes simulcast streams). 
 
Hosted by actress and comedian Regina Hall, the 2019 "BET AWARDS" aired live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, June 23, and celebrated the very best in entertainment and culture with performances and appearances by some of the biggest names across television, film, and music. For the seventh consecutive year, the BET Experience at L.A. LIVE presented by Coca-Cola® June 20 – 23, 2018, attracted thousands of visitors to the downtown Los Angeles area for a 4-day culture-defining experience leading up to the awards.  
 
An additional encore viewing of the 2019 "BET AWARDS," aired immediately following the Post-show at 12:50 AM EST.  Fans can catch additional airings on Today, June 24 at 6 PM ET, Wednesday, June 26 at 9 PM ET and Saturday, June 29 at 8 PM ET.Internationally, for the first time the show was simulcast on BET Africa and will broadcast on the UK on June 24th at 9 PM BST, South Korea on June 25th at 9 PM KST and in France on June 25th at 9 PM CEST.
