CAST:
KEVIN "KEVONSTAGE" FREDERICKS as “Pastor Corey Carr Jr.” - Our “hero” and newly crowned leader of Bethlehem Temple. Charismatic but underprepared, Corey inherits not just the pulpit - but the church’s mountain of debt and mess left behind by his predecessor, Pastor Stinney. |
MARK JP HOOD as “Rodney Joseph” - Part of “Corey’s Crew” this season. Corey’s ride-or-die best friend and the church’s self-appointed head of PR. A true showman at heart, Rodney will do just about anything to steal the spotlight. His advice to Corey is rarely sound, but it’s always entertaining, and every now and then, it accidentally works. |
LEXI ALLEN as “Mother Jean” - The stubbornly uptight, passive aggressive, lemon cake-baking traditionalist we know and love. In Season 2, she’s learning to let go and let God - professionally and romantically. Mother Jean realizes that if Bethlehem Temple is going to survive, she’ll need to work with Corey, no matter how much he drives her crazy. |
ANTHONY ELFONZIA as “Pastor Stinney” - The well-meaning former leader of Bethlehem Temple who’s decided to hand over keys, and a mountain of debt to Corey. Though Stinney is technically retired, he’s still at the church almost daily, offering Corey unsolicited wisdom, unwavering support, and occasionally adding to the chaos himself. |
QUIN WALTERS as “Sharon Walters” - Part of “Corey’s Crew” this season. Corey’s sounding board and usually the group’s voice of reason - until she’s not. Sharon’s a Lubbock native with Chicago energy, so don’t let the pretty face fool you - she has zero hesitation about taking things from 0 to 100 real quick. Sharon’s more than just part of the crew - she’s like a trusted sister to Corey, Calvin, and Rodney. |
TAHIR MOORE as “Calvin Crooks” - Part of “Corey’s Crew” this season. Corey’s unrequested armor bearer and former hustler with a heart of gold. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect Corey - even if it bends the law. Calvin always has some scheme in motion and a moral compass that shifts with the moment. He’s left most of his old life behind… but every now and then, it shows up to “serve” the church. |
JASMINE LUV as “Breanna ‘Bree’ Beverly - Owner of Bree’s Diner, one of Lubbock’s most beloved spots. Her warmth, wit, and down-to-earth vibe make the diner a true community hub. Bree has a soft spot for Corey and isn’t shy about dropping flirtatious hints - most of which go right over his head. But eventually, Corey catches on and starts matching the energy of the incredible woman right in front of him. |
NIC FEW as “Pastor Teddy” - Armed with seemingly endless resources and strategic alliances, Teddy is on a mission to take down Corey and Bethlehem Temple - one petty, calculated move at a time. After being exposed by Corey in Season 1 for plagiarizing sermons off YouTube, Teddy’s now on a full-blown tour of vengeance, and no scheme is too small if it gets him closer to payback. |
TABITHA BROWN as “Mayor Dana Wilson” - A Southern sweetheart on the surface, but a savvy politician at heart. Her lifelong dream is to remain Mayor of Lubbock, and she’ll do whatever it takes to secure a third term. She’s not ruthless—just deeply devoted to the city she loves. While initially charmed by Teddy’s polish, her discernment eventually kicks in, and she comes to recognize Pastor Corey as the true blessing Lubbock needs. |
KIRK FRANKLIN as “Freight Train” - Freight Train is a menacing inmate at West Ridge Penitentiary with an unexpected flair for Shakespeare and the dramatic arts. Even though he’s serving a double-life sentence, he’s still a proud SAG member and dead serious about becoming a Hollywood superstar - one prison-made self-tape at a time. |
KEITH LEE as himself - Keith is a viral food critic who works Bree’s last nerve, taste-testing every item on her menu like it’s his full-time job or something! He’s all smiles, overly polite, and completely unfazed by Bree’s rising frustration or the chaos swirling around the diner. Keith’s not here for the drama. He’s just here for the food. |
TONY BAKER as Mavericks West - A cowboy-hat-wearing Texan businessman who owns the successful trampoline park franchise Jumpy Joyland. With a shark mentality when it comes to money, he’d love nothing more than to see Bethlehem Temple demolished and replaced with one of his parks. |
