Rich Waltz

Rich Waltz joined CBS Sports in 2013, and he currently serves as a play-by-play announcer on CBS Sports’ college football and basketball coverage. Waltz also calls MLB for Apple TV and MLB Network, and he just finished his 5th World Baseball Classic for MLB Network & FS1. 

 

Waltz was a three-time Emmy Award winner during his thirteen years as the television voice of the Miami Marlins, and he’s also called MLB for Fox Sports and TBS. Waltz has called 6 No-Hitters in MLB, and was at the mic for Kumar Rocker’s historic 19 strikeout No-Hitter for Vanderbilt in 2019 NCAA Super Regional on ESPN.

 

He has previously called SEC & ACC football and basketball games for FSN and Raycom. Early in his career, Waltz called football in the Big Ten, SEC, ACC, and Pac-12 for ESPN-ABC. His ESPN assignments also included college basketball, MLB, Major League Soccer, the Women’s NCAA Tournament, and the NCAA Softball World Series. Waltz has also called both ATP and WTA events on Tennis Channel.

 

Waltz was a starting infielder at the University of California, Davis.
