THE FIRST SEASON includes over 90 minutes of engrossing behind-the-scenes footage, exclusively available on this release.

The collection is full of never-before-seen featurettes including “The Story Of Extant,” which begins with legendary director Spielberg setting up the show’s concept, and follows Extant Executive Producer and creator Mickey Fisher as he works with producers to bring the unique series to the small screen.  Fisher is also featured in “The Mythology Of Extant” where he introduces key words, characters and items that constitute the show’s futuristic setting.

Plus, viewers will meet Extant’s amazing cast headlined by Berry (Molly Woods), along with Goran Visnjic (John Woods), Pierce Gagnon (Ethan Woods), Hiroyuki Sanada
(Hideki Yasumoto), Michael O’Neill (Alan Sparks), Camryn Manheim (Dr. Sam Barton) and Grace Gummer (Julie Gelineau) in “Extant: The Cast.”

The special features continue with “Extant: Filming Season One” where fans will hear from the directors, writers and creators, and go behind-the-scenes of the series from the pilot to the last episode. Additional features examine the show’s props, costumes and stunning visual effects.

Extant is a serialized mystery thriller about a female astronaut (Berry) trying to reconnect with her family after returning from a year in outer space. Her mystifying experiences in space lead to events that will ultimately change the course of human history.  Extant is produced by Amblin Television. Steven Spielberg, Mickey Fisher, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank are executive producers. Amblin Television currently produces seven series airing on five different networks – the midseason drama The Whispers on ABC; Under the Dome and Extant on CBS; The Americans on FX; Falling Skies and the upcoming drama Public Morals on TNT; and Red Band Society on Fox.  

The four-disc Extant collection will be available on Blu-ray in 1080p high definition with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby Digital English Stereo Surround, and with English SDH subtitles.
