Sellers Shy is CBS Sports lead golf producer. Shy became staff at CBS Sports in 1997 and was named to his current role in December, 2019.

Shy serves in many roles throughout CBS Sports’ golf coverage. The Emmy Award-winner works as replay producer, associate director and producer for the PGA TOUR, the Masters and PGA Championship Highlight Shows, Masters Preview, Asia Pacific Amateur Championship and Latin America Amateur Championship.  He also currently serves as producer for THE NFL ON CBS, NCAA Basketball on CBS, and Navy football on CBS Sports Network. 

A two-time high school golfer of the year and three-time golf state amateur qualifier, Shy started his career at CBS Sports as a golf spotter in 1987 at the Danny Thomas Memphis Classic and travelled to the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway as a journalism intern.  He has covered numerous events as a broadcast associate, associate director, or producer including the Masters, PGA Championship, PGA TOUR, THE NFL ON CBS, SEC ON CBS, NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, and the 1998 Daytona 500. Born on December 2, 1971 in Memphis, Shy graduated with a Journalism degree from the University of Mississippi in 1994, and following college he was mentored by 3 time major champion Dr Cary Middlecoff.  He has served on the board of the University of Mississippi Journalism School and currently has an endowment to the Broadcast Journalism Honors College.  Shy is on the board of the PGA TOUR’s World Golf Championship FedEx St Jude Invitational and has served on the parents association board of Memphis University School. 

He lives in Memphis with his wife, Stephanie, and his three children Sellers, Edwin, and Gracie.
