John Will is president of Cloud Nine Productions, a development and production company with a first-look producing deal at CBS Television Studios. The company was founded by CEO Eric Christian Olsen, and Will has been with Cloud Nine since its inception in 2016.

 

At Cloud Nine, Will serves as an executive producer developing and producing projects in all genres, for both broadcast and streaming, with numerous sales to CBS, NBC, Peacock, FX, Roku and Hulu.

 

Will developed and executive produced the Hulu comedy series “Woke,” starring Lamorne Morris, Blake Anderson, Sasheer Zamata and comedian T Murph. The show, which ran for two seasons, was inspired by the life and work of cartoonist Keith Knight and took an absurdly irreverent look at identity and culture.

 

Prior to Cloud Nine, Will was an independent producer who developed films and series under the banner of Torn Sky Entertainment. He’s produced two independent feature films: the comedic adventure “Band of Robbers” directed by Adam & Aaron Nee and starring Kyle Gallner, Melissa Benoist and Matthew Gray Gubler; and the dramedy “The Trouble with Bliss,” starring Michael C. Hall, Lucy Liu and Brie Larson.

 

Originally from Arlington, Va., John moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in storytelling after graduating pre-med from Dartmouth College.
