CBS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK ENDING APRIL 5

According to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 5 (week 27 of the 2019-2020 broadcast season), CBS attracted 6.64 million viewers (#1).

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL amassed an audience of 7.99 million viewers with 1.72 million adults 25-54. Based on the gross audience reach (including the 4:00 AM re-air), the CBS EVENING NEWS is up +40% in viewers and up +55% with adults 25-54 compared to the same week a year ago. Every day last week, the CBS EVENING NEWS ranked among the top five among total viewers for all CBS shows. On March 30, the CBS EVENING NEWS was the Network’s most-watched broadcast with 7.512 million viewers.

On Tuesday, CBS was the most-watched network with 10.86 million viewers as NCIS posted its largest audience in almost two years (since May 8, 2018) with 13.65 million viewers. FBI attracted a series-best 10.85 million viewers, while FBI: MOST WANTED was first in its time period with an audience of 8.10 million.

On Wednesday, SURVIVOR posted its largest audience (8.24m) since April 4, 2018, while the special GARTH & TRISHA LIVE! reached 5.59 million.

On Thursday, CBS posted its largest audience for the night this season with 7.09 million viewers. YOUNG SHELDON attracted a season-best 10.06 million, and the season premiere of MAN WITH A PLAN posted the time period’s best delivery this season with 7.01 million viewers, while MOM saw as season-best 7.62 million. The series premiere of BROKE (7.07m) posted the season’s best deliveries for a comedy premiere. At 10:00 PM, TOMMY returned and was the hour’s most-watched program with a season best in viewers (5.35m).

On Friday, CBS said “aloha” to a long-running series while remaining the night’s most-watched network for 26 of 28 weeks with 8.48 million viewers. MACGYVER was first in viewers (7.07m) with its largest audience since Feb. 2, 2018. The series finale of HAWAII FIVE-0 attracted a record 9.59 million viewers, the show’s largest audience since Jan. 5, 2018, while BLUE BLOODS at 10:00 PM attracted 8.77 million, the show’s largest audience since Feb. 15, 2019.

On Saturday, 48 HOURS posted its largest audience since Feb. 1 (3.67m).

On Sunday, CBS was first in viewers (7.49m) for the eighth consecutive week. 60 MINUTES was Sunday’s #1 primetime program with 10.00 million viewers and was up +5% in viewers versus last year, while the special ACM PRESENTS: OUR COUNTRY was first in viewers (7.69m), and an encore of GARTH & TRISHA LIVE! reached 4.57 million viewers.
