DANIELLA ALONSO

Cristal Carrington in “Dynasty”

Daniella Alonso stars as Cristal Carrington, Blake’s third wife and a healer at heart, in The CW’s hit series “Dynasty.” Although good-natured, she can play just as dirty as the rest of them when pushed to her limit. With a lot of family drama of her own, she fits perfectly in the Carrington universe.

A New York native and Los Angeles-based actress, Alonso always knew she wanted to be an actress simply because she wanted to make people feel the way a good movie made her feel: any organic, deep emotion. Discovered by the Ford Modeling Agency, she began booking jobs for teen magazines like Seventeen, YM, Teen which led to her booking commercials for Clairol, Cover Girl, Clean and Clear, Kmart, Target, Old Navy, Volkswagen and more. In fact, she has done over 30 national commercials and approximately 20+ Spanish market advertisements as well.

An American actress of Puerto Rican and Peruvian origins, Alonso has played a number of strong female roles such as series regular Brenda Serrano in the highly respected drama series “My Generation.” She also had great recurring roles on “Rizzoli and Isles” and “Covert Affairs.” Alonso was best known as “Nora” on the first season of the J.J. Abram’s record-breaking hit series “Revolution” and was later cast in the TNT family crime drama, “Animal Kingdom” from executive producers John Wells and Jonathan Lisco. The series is a film adaption of the 2010 Australian feature

Alonso played the lead role in the drama “The Night Shift” as Landry De La Cruz, the hospital’s lone psychiatrist. The series, which premiered May 2014, centered around a group of Army doctors who return to work on the night shift at a hospital in San Antonio, TX. She is often recognized for the role of Carlotta from the critically-acclaimed television series “Friday Night Lights,” but is perhaps best known for her role as Anna Taggaro on the popular The CW series “One Tree Hill.” Prior to these roles, Alonso portrayed Pilar Domingo in the daytime drama “As The World Turns.”

In 2019 Daniella appeared in recurring roles on “Criminal Minds” as Lisa Douglas, “The Resident” as Zoey Barlow, and “The Fix” as Effy Collier. She was also cast in a recurring role on “Being Mary Jane,” opposite Gabrielle Union. Alonso starred as Marisol, a very pretty, stylish woman who takes over Mary Jane’s (Union) anchor position while Mary Jane is out. Very good at what she does, Marisol causes quite a stir. However, when Mary Jane returns, it turns out Marisol is one of Mary Jane’s star struck fans.

On the film front, Alonso, who made her debut in 1997’s “Academy Boyz,” has dotted her resume with roles in Martin Lawrence’s “Black Knight,” the 2003 Official Sundance Dramatic Selection “Rhythm of Saints,” “The Last Romantic,” “All You’ve Got,” and Snoop Dogg’s “Hood of Horror.” She also starred as the female lead opposite Kevin James in Columbia Pictures’ “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.” She starred as Divina, James’ love interest in the film. The film was directed by Andy Fickman and produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions and was released in April 2015.

Alonso continues to make a name for herself in the Latino community and will be seen in the titular role in the film “Isolated Victim.” The film was based on a true story about a woman who went to Haiti in 2010 after the earthquake and saw the injustices and stayed to fight the government and against all odds, opened two orphanages. The film was produced by Zoe and Cisely Saldana.

An avid animal lover who supports various animal rights organizations such as PETA and The Humane Society, Alonso also practices karate, from which she has a green belt. She has also been named one of “Maxim’s Hot 100” twice.
