ADAM TSEKHMAN

Gary Green on “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”

Adam Tsekhman stars as Gary Green in The CW series “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” Gary has been a lot of things to the Legends; irritating assistant at the Time Bureau, inept magical apprentice to Constantine, and an immensely powerful alien squid hiding on earth. But for all his quirks, Gary has proven to always be a loyal friend and ally to the Legends. Thanks to a newfound confidence, Gary realizes it’s about time the team recognizes that he’s one of them, even if he has to nudge them first.

Tsekhman has previously been seen in Jordan Peele’s reboot of “The Twilight Zone,” which premiered in 2019. Additional television credits include appearing as Azerbaijani oil billionaire Yuri Petrov in the critically acclaimed drama series “Six,” “iZombie,” “Transparent,” “2 Broke Girls,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Bones,” “You’re the Worst,” “The Mentalist,” and “Rizzoli & Isles,” to name a few.

On the film front, Tsekhman was seen opposite Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn in “Dragged Across Concrete” for Summit Entertainment, which was released on March 22, 2019. He can also be seen in the indie “Robbery,” written and directed by Corey Stanton.

This year, Tsekhman will also appear in a supporting lead role opposite Evangeline Lily, Greg Kinnear and Gary Oldman in the feature film “Crisis,” a film about three stories colliding in the drug trafficking world.

Known for his chameleon-like ability to portray multiple ethnicities in film and television roles, Tsekhman struck gold in his very first role. At the 46th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival, he was nominated for “Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series” for his performance as a wrongly imprisoned American artist in the Russian television series “Zona.” In 2014 he played a concentration camp survivor in the Amos Gitai film “Tsili,” a Holocaust love story shot entirely in Yiddish, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

A native of Winnipeg, Canada, Tsekhman received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, but it was his leading role in the on-campus production of Neil Simon’s comedy “Fools” that catapulted him into drama. Deciding to bypass a future on Wall Street, he instead attended Columbia University in New York, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Acting. While in New York, he made his off-Broadway debut in Classic Stage Company’s production of “Scapin” by Moliere. Upon graduating from Columbia, Tsekhman landed his critically acclaimed role in “Zona,” and has been working ever since.

As a writer, Tsekhman is developing a number of comedy projects, including “Americanistan,” a comedy about a group of Western reporters who take on the Middle East, in which Tsekhman also plays an Arab sheik, the dictator of a fictional country, alongside Mena Massoud (“Aladdin”).

Tsekhman is based in the Los Angeles area when he is not filming in Vancouver.
