Executive Producer of “Coroner”

 

 

Adrienne Mitchell is an executive producer of The CW’s new drama “Coroner.”

 

Mitchell is a principal owner and executive producer at Back Alley Film Productions Ltd., and an award-winning film and television director and showrunner. She received the 2017 Nell Shipman Award for her efforts in advancing gender equity in the entertainment industry.

 

In her more than 25-year career, Mitchell’s highlights include the documentary features “Talk 16” and “Talk 19”; television dramas “Straight Up,” “Drop the Beat,” “Bliss,” “Played,” and the critically acclaimed “Durham County,” which she co-created, served as co-showrunner, directed numerous episodes of the series and received the 2010 DGC Craft Award for her work. Additionally, Mitchell co-created, executive produced, and was lead director of the mystery-thriller series “Bellevue” starring Oscar-winning actress Anna Paquin.

 

She was the co-creator, co-showrunner, and director of the WWII series “Bomb Girls” starring Meg Tilly. For this work, Mitchell earned a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Direction in a Dramatic Series, and Best Direction award at the International TV Festival Bar Montenegro. Mitchell later executive produced the movie of the week, “Bomb Girls: Facing the Enemy,” which won the 2015 Canadian Screen Award for Best Dramatic Mini-Series or TV Movie.

 

Mitchell continues to develop dramatic series with Back Alley and individually. She recently optioned Helen Humphreys’ novel “The Evening Chorus” for her feature film directorial debut.
