Jesse “JR” Raymond Jr. in “All American: Homecoming”

In The CW’s hit series “All American: Homecoming,” Sylvester Powell stars as baseball player Jessie Raymond Jr., AKA J.R., who has faced a lot of change between his parent’s divorce, a new position on the baseball team, and finding out that Damon (Peyton Alex Smith) is his brother. Now he’s taking the time to focus on what’s important to him – his fraternity, baseball, and a surprising new love interest that will challenge him in more ways than one. He’s stepping into his power and setting boundaries so that he can take control of his future.

Powell is a dedicated and accomplished actor and athlete from the West Side of Chicago, Illinois. He made his debut as an actor in film and television in such shows as the Facebook series “Five Points” and “Criminal Minds.” He worked in leading and supporting roles in the indie films “Gods,” “Two Wolves” and “Kilo Valley.”

His athleticism led him to starring in ads for Asics and Nike. He was seen all over Europe for Nike, specifically in Nike’s first Paris – Michael Jordan store where he appeared in the advertising campaign for the 20^th Anniversary of “Space Jam.”
