CBS MIAMI LAUNCHES NEW WEEKLY FOOTBALL NEWS PROGRAM, ‘THE KICKOFF SHOW’

MIAMI — Aug. 24, 2026 — CBS Miami announced the launch of its new weekly original football program, THE KICKOFF SHOW, hosted by CBS News Miami Sports Anchor Mike Cugno. The half-hour show will air every Thursday for 18 weeks, providing viewers a comprehensive look at the biggest stories, standout performances, and must-see football moments from Friday night lights, college football Saturdays to the Miami Dolphins on Sundays.

THE KICKOFF SHOW is the only original midweek football show in the region. Each week, the show will spotlight the players, coaches and teams shaping the region's football landscape through in-depth features, exclusive interviews and compelling local storytelling.

Utilizing CBS Miami's state-of-the-art AR/VR studio, the program will enhance storytelling with immersive visual elements and provide viewers with an in-depth look at the weekend's biggest games. Coverage will span every level of the sport, from Friday night lights and college football Saturdays to Miami Dolphins Sundays.

With the launch of THE KICKOFF SHOW, CBS Miami continues to expand its role in local sports coverage and its longstanding tradition of celebrating football across South Florida. The new program builds on the station's exclusive partnership with the Miami Dolphins and its role as presenter of the Nat Moore Trophy, one of the region's most prestigious honors recognizing South Florida's top high school football player.
