CBS NEW YORK LONGTIME WEEKEND ANCHOR MOVES TO WEEKDAY TEAM AS CO-ANCHOR AND CONTRIBUTING REPORTER

NEW YORK – July 9, 2025 – CBS New York announces Emmy Award-winning anchor Jessica Moore will transition from her weekend role to the weekday anchor team. Effective immediately, Moore will co-anchor the 5:00 PM newscast alongside Kristine Johnson. She will continue to report with an emphasis on political stories and hyperlocal topics that are important to tri-state area viewers.

“I’m excited to join CBS New York’s weekday team and take on this new chapter in my career,” said Moore. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue telling meaningful stories and connecting with our viewers in this new role.”

“Jessica is a thorough and thoughtful journalist. While she thrives during breaking news, it is never at the expense of her humanity,” said CBS New York news director Sarah Burke. “She and Kristine make an excellent team on the anchor desk.”

In her nine years with CBS New York, Moore has covered a wide range of topics including the line of duty deaths of NYPD detectives Wilbert Mora and Jason Rivera, the Jam Master Jay murder trial, the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel and former President Biden’s recent cancer diagnosis. Earlier this year, while covering Senate confirmation hearings in Washington, D.C., Moore reported on the helicopter collision with a commercial plane, delivering early details of the tragic crash.

Moore has earned five Emmy Awards and an Associated Press Award for her work.
