“60 MINUTES” MAKES TELEVISION HISTORY BY MARKING 52 STRAIGHT SEASONS AS AMERICA’S #1 NEWS PROGRAM

The CBS Newsmagazine Ended the 2025-26 Season Up +9% Year Over Year

60 MINUTES ended its 58th season breaking records across linear and digital, as America’s #1 news program on television for the 52nd consecutive year and surpassing 2.5 billion video views on social media – more than doubling its record from last year. The 2025-26 season of 60 MINUTES saw exponential growth on linear, averaging 9.1 million viewers, a +9% increase and up +5% in the key A25-54 demo compared to the prior season. CBS’ flagship news broadcast reached new heights across digital and social media as audiences turned to 60 MINUTES across every major platform in record numbers: 2.5 billion video views, over 105 million engagements, and adding nearly 17 million followers across platforms.

Over the course of the 58th season, 60 MINUTES delivered consequential reporting on America and the White House, the escalating conflicts in the Middle East and featured newsmaker interviews with world leaders and dealmakers. The CBS newsmagazine broadcast forward-looking pieces on the U.S. investment in rare earths and the next frontier of AI chatbots. The season profiled Hollywood legends to rising stars, and took viewers on epic adventures – from the world’s tallest mountain to a winding underworld of caverns the size of skyscrapers.

Highlights from the 2025-26 season:

  • 60 MINUTES closed out the 58th season as America’s #1 news program, for the 52nd straight season – extending its record-setting performance.

  • 60 MINUTES averaged 9.1 million viewers in its 58th season, according to Nielsen most current ratings, up +9% from its season 57 average. The CBS newsmagazine is also up +5% in the key A25-54 demo.

  • 60 MINUTES reached more than one in three Americans at least once this season on linear and live streaming.

  • 60 MINUTES made the top 10 for every single week this season and top five 12 times.

  • Nearly 20 billion minutes of 60 MINUTES have been consumed this season across linear and streaming.

  • The total video views across 60 MINUTES social platforms are up +185% YoY.

  • The total engagement with our content across 60 MINUTES social platforms is up +137% YoY.

  • Our views for TikTok are up +85% YoY.

  • Our views for Instagram are up +65% YoY.

  • The digital traffic for web articles on CBSNews.com is up +18% YoY.
