Gayle on Oprah Daily & OG Chronicles

https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/LzXxWzm9M1dE

Gayle:You know the Oprah Magazine had been a huge success. We were there for 20 years, imagine 20 years we were a monthly magazine and Oprah decided, she’s reading the room, and she said, ‘You always want to leave before they ask you to,’ even her talk show it was 25 years, she was number one the whole time, she was probably the only one who was ready to leave because the staff wasn’t, the audience wasn’t but she said, ‘I just feel it’s time.’ So with the magazine, it was a monthly print edition, she said, ‘I really want to take advantage of digital.’ So now she said, ‘The magazine is not ending, it’s evolving,’ and that’s what this is,it’s an evolution of ‘O, The Oprah Magazine.’ We are calling it Oprah Daily and so you can get it every day online and we are going to do four print issues and we’ve got Oprah Insiders for people who really want to go into Oprah-land. I am very, very proud of it, it launched a week ago today. And tonight, can I talk about OG Chronicles, it’s tonight. OG Chronicles, Oprah and I live7:00PMeast coast time…you can log on and sign up to join us….You know what OG stands for in OG Chronicles?

Drew: Original Gangster?

Gayle:Oprah and Gayle.

Gayle & Drew on Covid-19 Vaccine for Kids

https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/GwXhKoWKJzcR

Gayle: Starting with the latest vaccine news, CBS News reports that Pfizer completed a study and found their vaccine is safe and 100% effective in kids, this is big, in ages 12-15. So Pfizer plans to file with the FDA for emergency use for kids as young as 12. You know, I know Drew there is still some vaccine hesitancy but that’s changing. I’ve heard people say, ‘Well I never got the flu shot.’ The difference is if you didn’t get the flu shot it only affected you. If you don’t get this vaccine,it affects all of us and the people around you so I think this is very exciting, especially for kids because they can go back to school. I don’t know about Frankie and Olive but aren’t they sick of just looking at a little Zoom.

Drew: Everyone has hit a fatigue level that is so real, and we know we are here for a little longer so the sooner we get vaccinated, the sooner we will be out of it.

Gayle: I’ve had mine.
Drew: I’ve had mine too.

Gayle:So can we say we approve of the vaccine for children.

Drew: I do approve. Yes, I approve.

Gayle:Can I just tell you a funny thing Chris Rock said to me because people are saying, ‘Well I don’t know what’s in it. I don’t know if it’s safe.’ And he said, ‘You don’t know what’s in Tylenol either but when you have a headache you take it because you know it will make your headache go away.’ You know if it’s something that makes you feel good, makes you feel better and until we have information to the contrary I don’t know I’m a big proponent of the vaccine.

Gayle on Oprah’s Harry & Meghan Interview

Drew: Gayle I can’t think of anyone we’ve looked to for the North Star, other than you and Oprah, for all of the truths from Harry and Meghan.

Gayle:I think that interview opened up conversations that many people weren’t prepared to have or didn’t want to have but I think ultimately,it’s about a family that wants to be united and wants to be together and I’m hoping that will be the case.

Drew: And have those difficult conversations.

Gayle:Yes, and sometimes conversations are very difficult. Right now, I’m just happy for them. I saw in the paper the other day they said they are planning for a home birth, I think that that’s interesting.

Drew: I really admire hearing all the details and opening up that important conversation and really making history in a conversation that was refusing to be had for centuries, so I am very happy the lid is off. There is nothing healthy about not having those conversations.

Gayle: There’s nothing healthy when you don’t talk. So let’s all wish that for all involved In that particular story.

Drew & Seth on The Emmys After Parties at Her House

https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/1ohkyXCvKyBt

Drew: You got 20 Emmy award nominations for ‘SNL’ is that correct?

Seth: Thank you for focusing on that and not the one win.

Drew: By the way, the Emmys are like so hard. I would be with Amy Poehler and Kristen Wiig and me and none of us would ever win and we would go back to my house and have a big party.

Seth:You know what, a true story, I think the most, and by the way it’s an honor to be nominated let me stress that, the most upset I was when SNL didn’t win an Emmy I was also at your house and let me tell you that was a wonderful consolation prize to get to party atDrewBarrymore’s house after a big loss.

Drew: That was one of my favorite nights of life and Amy Poehler got me this beautiful decanter because she kept talking about how this was such a great antidote and then she got me a bottle that said antidote on it and it still sits on my desk, I just love it so much.

Seth: I’m going to tell you from knowing Amy for years, if she ever gives you a gift that’s her way of saying, ‘I stole something that night.’

Sneak Peak Preview Clip: Jason Derulo on Becoming A Father & Having Baby Fever

Must Include Tune In: Upcoming Episode of The Drew Barrymore Show airing in April

https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/PrCbWGkhc7Vw

Drew: I wanted to ask you because you just had the big fun gender announcement with your girlfriend Jenna and you guys met right before the pandemic and you just announced that you are having a baby boy. Congratulations, a mini Derulo.

Jason:Thank you so much. Yeah, I could not be more excited it’s a boy. I think everything happens in the right time. I was just starting to like really get baby fever, I guess with age and you meet someone you really really connect with and it happened at just the right time.

Drew: That’s interesting I haven’t heard a man talk about baby fever, we are usually the ones saddled with the tick tock…

Jason:I think I’ve done so much in my life right? And I’ve been able to accomplish a lot so at this point in my life I’m like, ‘Okay, now who do I share it with?’ Also, there is no men to carry my name. My brother had all girls, my sister had girls, so there’s no more Derulos, like I needed to make it happen because somebody’s got to carry the name.

Drew: How is your beautiful lady Jenna feeling?

Jason: So she’s actually good. It hasn’t been a tough pregnancy at all. She’s been really, really good, the worst thing that happens is he just kicks a lot. Whenever he hears music he just starts dancing. I want to do a TikTok on it because I just picture him in there just getting it.
