Drew Meets “SNL” Star Chloe Fineman

Drew: There’s really only one way to honor this woman and ask her to come to our studio and it’s through those big yellow doors, ladies and gentleman Chloe Fineman…I’m actually shaking a little bit this is the first time we are actually meeting in person.

Chloe: I am too. Truly ooli, ooli.

Drew: Holy oley moley. I’m really nervous to meet you. I am so excited, I am such a fan.

Chloe: I’m your biggest fan, you’re going to make me cry.

Drew: First of all comedy to me is I think more than medicine it’s what saves us in the world. It’s the most attractive quality in any partner. It’s the thing you want with your friends. It’s what you look to entertainment for, laughing is the most important thing in the world but your talent, your range, the way you play all your characters….I am just in awe of you. I know I’m being so me to you…Would you take us to commercial please.

Chloe on Impersonating Drew

Chloe: I mean doing you was so exciting because you were on the cover of InStyle and the impression that I did this summer started because I really wanted that shirt. It was so cute.

Drew: Which got sold and raised like $90,000 for the Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation.

Chloe: Totally so I was like swipe, order and it came in. Luckily in LA I had a large wig collection in my boyfriend’s shed….So I was lucky to have all these things when the world was a little shut down.

Drew: You brought so much joy. I immediately reposted that and then I was afraid I was going to drive you away. I’m not kidding, I was like, ‘’Now she knows I’m onto her she’s going to move on, she’s going to lose interest.’…Do you talk to yourself in the mirror?

Chloe: Yeah, of course.

Drew: Oh my God me too. Okay good, I’m so relieved. It was always a way for me to live out fantasies.

Chloe: Totally. I have a memory of starting to do you, Ms. Drew, I was in Brooklyn staying with my friends, I was just fascinated and I was in the mirror like, ‘Hello.’

Drew: I’ll be in a mirror, a pair, a duo with you anytime. I hope you’ll keep doing this on the show….You’re my holy moley oley for life and I’m so thrilled you’re here and I’m shaking with excitement. Thank you for honoring us with your presence here…Chloe you want to throw us to break?

Chloe: Yes…

Drew & Jessica Reminisce on Filming “Never Been Kissed” & Jessica On The Inspiration Behind The Honest Company

https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/mbjdDj05dI4r

Drew: It’s been almost 22 years. I think it has been 22 years since Never Been Kissed.
Jessica: Yeah, isn’t that a trip? I had my 17th birthday on the set.

Drew: We just had the best time making that film.

Jessica: Yeah and you popped so many actors as well. It felt like camp but you also really took so many people under your wing and guided them. A lot of us were just starting out and you set the stage I would say for us and gave us a platform to be successful, so thank you.

Drew: I mean if I had anything to do with some of your origin story which I’m so proud to. Holy cow did you just come out of the gate swinging, there are so many things to talk about with you. Just the aspiring entrepreneur in all of us, what happened, I mean one day there is no Honest Company and the next day there is an Honest Company. What were the steps? Because you just were a gamechanger.

Jessica: I guess I really just saw an opportunity to do it better than what everyone else was doing. When I am thinking of the environment around me and my family, when I am thinking of everything I am putting on my skin I just want to have the healthiest, best, most transparent ingredients. I just felt like you shouldn’t have to compromise your health in order to have something that really worked and it shouldn’t break the bank. It shouldn’t be too expensive and so that is what The Honest Company is.

Drew: It’s just astonishing to me that you were the one and so amazing.

Jessica & Drew on Parenting During Pandemic, “I told everyone in the family that I need a break from them...I’ve had it, I’ve had enough.”

https://drewbarrymoreshow.cimediacloud.com/r/VcYEobdnCKnx

Drew: Okay, straight talk. How are you doing it? We as women don’t want to ever not say, ‘You can’t have it all, you can’t do it all,’ but I just spent my weekend, I am in a whole self-improvement surge for how I talk to myself in my own  head, and my inner dialogue was not very nice this weekend. How as a mom with your kids and your job and everything, how’s your inner voice?

Jessica: Real talk. I told everyone in the family that I need a break from them. So Kelly and I are actually going to go away for a week and I don’t really know what we are getting ourselves into I just know that I can’t be around my family anymore. I’ve had it, I’ve had enough. And they all come down on me. Every time they ask me, ‘Mom can I download this app? Mom can I get on the Facetime? Mom I’m hungry. Is this outfit okay? Can you help me.’ I’m like, ‘You’re on a Zoom call like don’t talk to me. Talk to your dad.’ Then I just start nagging and I’m just nagging and I’m that person and then they are like, ‘Mom, your tone you’re so mean.’ And then Cash is like, ‘I guess I’m just going to go back into my man room,’ And I’m like, ‘What else is new?’ Just disappearing for me to deal with everything. Yes, it’s been fun, been really fun. Now imagine, you have my 9-year-old she doesn’t want to go to bed, it’s a fight every night. I’m like, ‘What? Like you know you need to go to bed kid. This isn’t a thing, we shouldn’t talk about this.’ Then she goes, ‘Well you make dinner so late every time you make dinner.’ Here’s the thing, ‘I’m going to make dinner late. You’re going to eat late. Then you’re going to get your butt to bed right after that and that’s just the way it’s going to be. I don’t know what to say, I’m not perfect. You’re going to eat dinner late.’

Drew: Oh my God, I already have loved you for 22 years and I just fall more and more in love for so many reasons. I just thank you because I feel so much less alone.
