PREVIEW CLIP 1: GRETCHEN MOL ON "AMERICAN GIGOLO" REMAKE: "IT WAS STRANGE TO BE DOING THIS KIND OF MATERIAL" 

Rachael Ray: “I want to know if you have any memories of the original movie?” 

Gretchen Mol: “Yes, I was a little on the young side when it came out. It came out in 1980. So, it would have been really inappropriate for me to see it then. I do remember seeing… I was still young and it was a strange movie. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was the fashion and Los Angeles.” 

Rachael Ray: “But it was still moving in a weird way.” 

Gretchen Mol: “Yes, the character is a gigolo but it had this kind of lonely vibe in it and anyway… now it is contemporary. We’ve put it in this time period.”  

Rachael Ray: “What was the experience like?” 

Gretchen Mol: “We shot the pilot during the deep Covid time. It was strange to be on set, it was strange to be doing this kind of material which had so much intimacy to it.”  

Rachael Ray: “I was just going to say to do something so intimate and powerful, emotionally really hard work. During a time where everyone is detached.” 

Gretchen Mol: “Yes and it was nice to be back to work with such wonderful people…Rosie Odonell, Wayne Bradey.” 

Rachael Ray: “Rosie O’Donnell is outrageous.” 

Gretchen Mol: “She’s amazing. Just a fantastic actor.”  

Rachael Ray: “So fantastic in this.”
