August 14, 2025 – In an exclusive interview airing tonight, INSIDE EDITION spoke with Ray Riley, the 6’6” passenger who stepped in during an incident with an unruly man aboard a Breeze Airways flight from Virginia to L.A. earlier this week. Deemed a hero by fellow travelers, Riley helped restrain the disruptive, allegedly intoxicated suspect, 46-year-old David Leroy Carter Jr., as he reportedly shouted racial slurs and waved a skateboard at airline staff. Ray acted quickly to support the flight crew until the plane could make an emergency diversion to Colorado, where they were met by local law enforcement.

“I told myself, this is going to escalate, and I’m going to have to do something. Especially with my son being literally on that aisle right next to all this [while] it’s happening,” Riley told INSIDE EDITION.“I don’t regret anything I did, for sure.”
