September 22, 2025 – In an exclusive interview airing tonight, INSIDE EDITION speaks with comedian Drew Lynch and Richard Wende, the 83-year-old who suffered a heart attack during Lynch’s Spokane show on September 12. Off-duty nurses in the audience called 911 and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Visibly shaken, Lynch paused his set to thank the individuals who saved Wende’s life and now they both are opening up to INSIDE EDITION about what they experienced in that moment.
“I've never seen anything like it. People were working together, so it was kind of like I was almost in an operating room. It was actually the people in the room who revived him just before the paramedics got there,” Lynch tells INSIDE EDITION.
Wende added, “I was amazed somebody was right there and they had emergency room training…thank you, thank you, thank you.”
