Matthew Gray Gubler

             Matthew Gray Gubler is a multitalented actor, director, producer, musician, artist, filmmaker and voice talent. His film credits include “68 Kill,” which won the Audience Choice Award at the South by Southwest Film Festival and will be released by IFC in September 2017; “Newnes,” a 2017 Sundance film; and the upcoming “Zoe,” starring Ewan McGregor and Lea Seydoux. Additional film credits include the Golden Globe-nominated “500 Days of Summer,” “Magic Valley,” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2011, “Excision,” “R.V.,” “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou,” “Pornstar,” “The Great Buck Howard,” “How To Be a Serial Killer,” “Suburban Gothic,” “Life After Beth,” “Beautiful Girl,” “Band of Robbers” and the short film “The Learning Curve,” based on a David Sedaris story, which won Best in Show at the New Media Film Festival in May 2013.

Gubler lent his voice to the role of Simon in the film “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and its sequels, including “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.” Also, he voiced the role of Jimmy Olsen in the animated feature “All-Star Superman,” based on the award-winning D.C. Comics series, as The Riddler/Edward Nygma in “Batman: Assault on Arkham,” and as Winsor in the animated video “Scooby Doo: Attack of the Phantosaur.”

           A 2002 graduate of the NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a major in film, Gubler is an accomplished filmmaker whose short films include “The Cactus That Looked Just Like a Man,” “Claude: A Symphony of Horror,” “Life Aquatic: Intern Journal” and “Tippi’s Picnic.” Also, he directed, edited and co-produced music videos, such as The Killers’ “Don’t Shoot Me Santa” and “Dirt Sledding,” in addition to SOKO’s “You Have a Power On Me.”

          In addition to his role on CRIMINAL MINDS, Gubler has directed 10 episodes of the series, and in his spare time on set he wrote, directed and starred in a series of mockumentaries titled “Matthew Gray Gubler: The Unauthorized Documentaries” and “The Authorized Documentary.” He is featured in an episode of the series “Celebrity Ghost Stories,” in which he shares one of his great ghost encounters. In 2012 Gubler starred in the television short “The Beauty Inside,” which won a 2013 Daytime Emmy Award.
